Proftest SYKE carried out the proficiency test for analysis of PCB compounds in soil in end of 2011. In total 10 laboratories participated in the proficiency test. The sample types were: a reference PCB solution in isooctane and a contaminated soil sample. Basically, the calculated concentrations or the robust mean of the results reported by the participant were used as the assigned values for measurands. The evaluation of the performance of the participants was carried out using z score. In some cases the evaluation of the performance was not possible e.g. due to the low number of the participants. In total, 76 % of the total data in this proficiency test were satisfactory when the deviations of 20−30 % from the assigned values were accepted.
